Trump’s massive tariffs plan and how it affects our economy 😳

Trump is well known for saying that tariffs are a man’s best friend. However, during Trump 1.0, his advisors (Mnuchin and Kudlow) warned him against tariffs and predicted if he did such a thing it could lead to a global depression. On June 17, 1930, then President Hover signed the Smoot-Hawley Tariff despite warning from experts that it would cause significant damage to the American economy. This move proved to be a disaster because America’s trading partners retaliated by raising their own tariffs causing international trading to stop. Hoover did this despite a petition signed by 1000 economists telling him not to sign the act. As a result, America fell into a deeper depression. Is this what yall voted for?
