The Final Countdown: Why People Not Polls Will Decide This Election

With everything at stake—from healthcare to the economy—this election isn’t just about numbers. Stacey Abrams shares insights on Georgia, Republican endorsements, and electing the first woman presiden

The election is less than a month away, and the race to 270 electoral votes is still razor-thin, according to the latest polls. Now, let me just say this: take polls with a grain of salt! Many people don’t respond to polls (I know I don’t), and while polls give us a snapshot of the current mood, they’re not a crystal ball. Remember the Trump-Clinton race in 2016? Polls had Hillary Clinton winning—and we all know how that turned out.

With so much at stake in this election—our right to make decisions about our own bodies, the strength of the U.S. economy, and access to healthcare—there’s a lot to lose if Trump wins. On the flip side, under Kamala Harris’ leadership, we stand to gain so much: economic growth for working-class Americans, opportunities for homeownership, and a break from post-Trump stress disorder. Regardless of what the polls say, we cannot afford to take this election lightly.

I had the privilege of interviewing Stacey Abrams—voting rights advocate, author, and two-time Georgia gubernatorial candidate (who really should have won both times!). We discussed three key topics: the state of Georgia’s elections, the recent wave of high-profile Republicans endorsing Kamala Harris, and strategies for making history by electing the first woman president of the United States.

I hope you enjoy this quick yet insightful conversation. Let’s chat about your thoughts in the comments!
